How would Joseph Smith have afforded all the paper to write drafts of the Book of Mormon when it was so expensive and scarce at the time?

While there is no evidence of any draft versions of the Book of Mormon existing, we also have reasons to believe there wouldn’t be any drafts. One such reason is that Joseph probably would not have been able to afford all the paper required to create pages and pages of drafts.

Unlike today, paper was quite expensive and scarce in Joseph’s time. We know that Joseph Smith’s family was not wealthy and had experienced hardships, they likely would not have had enough money to purchase large amounts of paper, let alone Joseph being able to buy it on his own.

How would Joseph afford pages and pages of paper to write the drafts?
